Capped

In a world...similar and different from our own, we start chatting with someone waiting at the bench by a bus stop. They're incredibly talkative from the get-go, and it becomes evident that something is not right within this town we are so familiar with.

There is word of someone or something going around taking people's kneecaps.  It's up in the air as to why, especially considering that nothing can be figured out other than the obvious. No one's been able to identify similarities between victims, or even come to a definitive why this is happening at all. Sure, the town has always held a strange quality to it. That's practically unavoidable in a world where mythical beings with powers walk the same roads as the people without. Nothing ever like this, though.

And this stranger knows an alarming amount, in comparison. What is the angle he's working at? And is it truly coincidence that you crossed paths in the first place?
